The goal is to arrange cards in specific combinations, known as runs or sets, that can be placed on the table. A run is made up of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit, whsatta,kinereas a set is made up of three or four cards of the same rank but different suits. As they take turns drawing and discarding cards, players try to get better hands while simultaneously watching what their opponents do. Each player is dealt a specific number of cards at the start of the game; depending on the variation being played, this is typically seven or ten.
